BIOFCASE II

2022 –2023

TITTLE:

Optimization of functional biomaterials to support market access for more sustainable consumer products in the Valencian Community: toy, childcare, packaging, tableware, and commercial furniture sectors.

DESCRIPTION:

The implementation of more sustainable raw materials in plastic product manufacturing companies is a current demand within the European Union (EU). This presents a significant challenge for producers: finding more sustainable and functional plastic materials that maintain the necessary physical-chemical properties of the product. With this goal, the BioFcase project was conceived, in which plastic manufacturers adopted functional biomaterials without compromising the production and/or quality of their products. Given the success of this transfer, the BioFcase II project was developed to expand the number of beneficiary companies and optimize the materials obtained previously.

Project led by AIJU, Spain’s leading technological institute for children’s and leisure products, with financial support from the Generalitat Valenciana to extend this project and expand its reach to more companies.
